The Aging Celebration Collection

The female body is obviously the inspiration for these collections but I wanted to capture the life, fleshiness and vibrancy of the aging female figure, fighting against the cult of youth and the idealised body. I want to bring a sense of celebration for a more realistic body that has born children and seen its way through many decades, wearing signs of these as medals of honour and not as something to conceal and be ashamed of. To celebrate a time in a woman’s life when she can reclaim her identity, finding a path back to bringing her care and nurturing to herself after years of putting her ‘brood’ first, a repeat flowering if you will.
