The Black and Blue Series

This series poured out of a part of me I didn’t know was still fighting to be heard.

Each woman here- painted in shadows of blue and black- holds a fragment of something I’ve felt deeply through menopause. Loss of identity. The aching quiet of being unseen. The exhaustion of holding everything – until there’s nothing left.

And yet… beneath that silence, something begins to stir. A flicker. A reclaiming. A quiet, unbreakable strength.

These works are not just about grief or invisibility. They are about survival. Transformation. The powerful, untidy, necessary rebirth that midlife demands of us.

I created them while gathering my own self back together – line by line, layer by layer – and they speak for the parts of us that have no words, only feeling.
